‍Islam | The Way of Life

Islam is a whole way of life and it teaches us everything from eating and fasting to waking and sleeping. It includes everything in it and that is why it is called ‘Deen’ and not ‘Religion’. Religion is a common word used for all religious groups and it governs an individual’s life only. While on the other, hand Deen is the complete way of life, which includes every aspect of life including religious, political, and cultural aspects and more. It also includes aspects as: Individual, Social, Material, Moral, Economic, Legal, National & International.

In conclusion, it IS the way of life and there can be only one way of life. Islam is a very comprehensive religion and provides meticulous guidance to its followers. It tells you what you have to do, why you have to do it, when you have to do it, and how you have to do it, giving you a complete guidance and path to live your life the best way possible.

Adding to that it also tells us what foods we have to take and how eating healthy is our religious duty, Allah SWT mentions in the Qur’an in Surah An-Nahl, what you have to eat:

“So eat out of the lawful and good sustenance that Allah has bestowed upon you, and thank Allah for His bounty, if it is Him that you worship…” (16:114)

He also tells what you do not have to eat and is forbidden:

“Allah has forbidden you only carrion, and blood, and the flesh of swine; also any animal over which the name of any other than Allah has been pronounced…” (16:114)

Olives are mentioned more than four times in the Quran including Surah An-Nahl, verse 11. It has such significance that Allah SWT swears by olives in the Quran in surah At-Tin, verse: 1.

Honey is another natural food that is really very beneficial for your health. It is extracted from beehives and is mentioned in multiple chapters of the Holy Quran. Allah SWT has mentioned it in Suratul Nahl (The Chapter of The Bee).

It is full of rich nutrients including copper, carbs and calories. It is also full of antioxidants. Honey is a great alternative of sugar as it is natural. In addition the natural substance has antibacterial and antifungal properties and can kill unwanted bacteria and fungus, preventing infection.
